Dessert fondue for sweet tooths
- Mix together the pecans and brown sugar in a small bowl. Toast in a skillet over medium heat until pecans have caramelized, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Heat the apple juice over medium heat in a heavy-bottomed fondue pot. Simmer 2 minutes and then add the cheese. Using a wooden spoon, stir constantly until cheese is completely melted and mixture is smooth. Add the caramel and cinnamon, and simmer 5 more minutes, stirring constantly. Add pecans and stir.
- Remove the pot from the heat, and place it over a fondue burner on the table. Serve with a variety of sweet breads, fresh or dried fruit, jams, and jellies.
