- Bring white wine and honey to a boil in a large saucepan.
- Add pears, star anise, clove and cinnamon stick.
- Cover and simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes, or until pears are translucent. Remove spices and pour pears into a blender.
- Blend until smooth.
Variation: Add fresh thyme and serve as a condiment for pork.
