Triple the cheese, triple the pleasure
Raclette is an ideal choice for a fun and easy meal with friends. To help make your next raclette a success, your IGA grocer has put together the following tips for a meal to remember. A little planning is all it takes!

Choose quality cheeses

Raclette wouldn't be well, raclette without a selection of raclette cheeses! Choose a variety of both mild and sharp cheeses.

How much?

Plan on serving about 120 g (4 oz) of cheese per guest.

How to serve?

Cut cheese into very thin slices.

Serve gourmet deli meats, meat, fish and seafood

  • Fine Deli Meats: sausage, Italian deli meat, cured ham
  • Marinated strips of beef, chicken, or pork
  • Varied fondue meat: wild game and exotic meat
  • Wild game and duck sausages
  • Shrimp, scallpos and fish cut in cubes

How much?

Calculate 90 to 120 g (3 to 4 oz) per person.

How to serve?

Cut the meats so that they fit easily into your raclette trays. Blanch sausages in boiling water for a few minutes, then cut into rounds.

Add a dash of colour with vegetables

  • The classics: baby potatoes, a variety of mushrooms, sweet peppers, squash, asparagus, broccoli
  • Try something different: fennel, baby bok choy, snowpeas
  • Fruit: apples, pears, figs
  • Garnishes: green onions, fine herbs, lemon, lime
  • Time savers: Les Prêts-à-cuire du Maraîcher precut and packaged vegetable mixes

How much?

Plan on 250 to 375 mL (1–1 ½ cups) of vegetables per person.

How to serve?

Dice vegetables like mushrooms,
zucchini and peppers.

Trim and blanch firm vegetables
like broccoli, asparagus and fennel.

Don't forget to boil the new potatoes before serving!

Serve with delicious breads!

Synonymous with sharing and hearty repasts, bread is a must-have accompaniment for any raclette! For inspiration, visit your IGA bakery section, where you'll find an extensive selection of delicious breads to choose from.

How much?

Count on three to four slices of bread per person.

How to serve?

Slice bread just before serving for maximum freshness. Bread can be cut into small cubes or thin slices.

Serve with Sauces and Marinades

Perk up your plate with pickles

Cocktail onions and pickles are a welcome addition to raclette. Their vinegary taste contrasts perfectly with the savoury flavour
of the cheese. Round out your pickle dish with some baby corn and olives.

Get saucy!

When it comes to raclette, your imagination's the only limit! Why not serve sauces with your next raclette to create fabulous flavour combinations? Pair boldly flavoured sauces with red meats and deli meats, and try white, rosé or even Asian-inspired sauces to compliment poultry and seafood

Spice it up! 10 selection of wines

DWhite or red? The choice is up to you! If you prefer white wine, opt for a lively, fruity variety. If you'd rather drink red, choose a wine that is light and fruity. Use the pictograms at your IGA Wine Boutique to help identify the best bottles for your raclette
